Mexico is the largest consumer of soda per person. It consumes 150 liters per capita. This is a total of 15,900 million liters of soda.
Mexico has 187 bottling plants and 41,900 delivery trucks (without counting jobbers). It’s the second largest producer of soda in the world.
In 2003 the industry generated 140,233 jobs and another 736,900 jobs were created indirectly for the soda industry.
Investment in the industry during the last 5 years topped $3,000 million US dollars.
Growth in the soda sector is 1.5% to 2% per year.
