Beer takes first place as the alcohol beverage of choice among Mexicans. It has a 76% market share. Tequila, Brandy and Rum have 23% of the market.
Mexico is one of the leading exporters of beer in the world. Corona beer is the second most recognized beer in the world.
It is difficult to penetrate the Mexican market with beer. Imported beer has to sell at a price 40% below national brands in order to compete.
